Cross Guns Confession
I just found out my short play, Cross Guns Confession, will be included in March’s Sunday Reading Series at The Marsh Cafe in San Francisco.
Each month Fresh New Works accepts submissions for specific themes. March’s theme, which my play was written for, is “Embarrassing Dark Youthful Secrets.”
Cross Guns Confession takes place in a pub in Cross Guns, Ireland. It’s a dialogue between a young aspiring American writer and her middle-aged, Dublin-native writing professor. They each have ulterior motives for the meeting, which quickly escalates into a storytelling war that demonstrates how the desire for success can lead to every kind of nefarious behavior imaginable.
I’m a huge fan of The Marsh and I’ve been trying to finagle my way into their space since the New Year. This is a great honor and very encouraging.
The Marsh, a breeding ground for new performance was inspired by the Delaware marshes and is a very cool metaphor for their mission. Plus, it taps into my Delaware pride.
