My short play, The Elevator Mystique, was published in Issue 4 of Weave magazine.
The play received a staged reading at the Weave Issue 4 launch party at Remedy in Pittsburgh on Saturday, September 25.
Four characters from real life: Betty Friedan, Darwin’s beloved tortoise Harriet, renowned sexologist Dr. Money, and infamous kidnapper Joe Amsler, examine the purgatorial afterlife, which is set in a stuck elevator overlooking a shopping mall.
Special thanks and eternal gratitude to Laura E. Davis, the editor of the magazine and director of the play (and costume designer) and to the amazingly talented actors: Janette Schafer, Eric Hayes, Michael Moats, and Sarah Shotland.
It was exciting to see the play brought to life by such a remarkable group. The actors and play director/magazine editor are also extraordinary writers and it was an honor to have my work showcased with theirs. Some highlights that night included poetry from Laura E. Davis and Janette Schafer and a prose piece from Sarah Shotland.
Pittsburgh is a beautiful city and I really enjoyed my visit there. Â I look forward to following the work of these wonderful writers.
